Aloo Patties

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Kosh instant Oats for patties + ¼ cup for coating
  • 3 medium size potato
  • ¼ cup of green peas
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • ¼ tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp amchur powder
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tbsp corn flour
  • Oil for shallow frying

Method

  • Cook potatoes and green peas in a pressure cooker. Once cooked and the pressure completely subsides, open the cooker lid and immediately drain the water. Allow the potatoes to cool down and peel the skin.
  • In a wide mixing bowl, mix mashed potatoes, green peas, ½ cup oats, ginger garlic paste, salt, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, amchur powder, coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Equally partition the mixture into uniform round shapes with approx 3/4 inch thickness patties. Keep it aside.
  • Take corn flour in a bowl and prepare batter by adding little water. Dilute it to a medium range thickness.
  • Take ¼ cup oats in a wide plate.
  • Meanwhile heat some oil in a tawa.
  • Once the oil is hot but not smoking, dip the pasty / patty into corn flour batter and roll the pasty / patty in instant oats. Make sure the patty is covered by oats on all the sides.
  • Place it in a tawa for frying. Keep the flame in low level and ensure that it does not get over burnt.
  • After few seconds flip it and allow it to cook on the other side. Repeat this for remaining patties.
  • Healthy Aloo Oats Patties are ready. Serve it with spicy sauce.
