OATS DAHI BHALLA

Ingredients

  • Kosh Broken oats (Powdered)
  • 40g Urad dal (white)
  • 60 g Moong dal (white)
  • 40 g Baking powder
  • 1½ teaspoon Low fat curd
  • 400g Roasted cumin (jeera) powder
  • 1½ teaspoon Salt Red chili powder

Method

  • Soak urad and moong dal overnight in water. Drain the water in morning and grind them to a fine paste. Do not add water but if it is too thick then add little water.
  • Keep it aside to ferment for 3-4 hours.
  • Add Broken oats powder to the dal mixture and whisk it till light.
  • Add baking powder and a pinch of salt. Mix well.
  • You can steam the mix in idli steamer and steam for 15-20 minutes until it become fluffy and cooked well or deep fry them to make medium sized balls in hot oil until golden brown.
  • Soak oats bhalle in lukewarm water till soft. Squeeze out water.
  • Arrange them in a serving plate. Mix curd, salt, jeera powder and red chili powder.
  • Pour the curd mix over the bhallas and serve.
