  • Makes 14-15 pieces

Ingredients

  • Rice flour – A little more than 2/3rd cups (100 gms)
  • Oats flour – A little less than 1/2 cup(40 gms)
  • 1/4th cup or 12 gms Butter melted
  • Haldi a pinch
  • Pinch of red chilli powder
  • 2 Pinches of kasturi methi powder
  • 1/8th cup or 30 gms dahi
  • Salt to taste
  • Normal Water for binding
  • Oil for Deep frying

  • Murukku presser with star nozzle
  • Butterpaper / Newspaper

Method

  • Add rice flour, oats atta, salt, butter, haldi, red chilli powder and kasturi methi. Add water little by little to make a smooth and dough
  • Take the star holed plate in the murukku press and fill it with the prepared dough. Make favourite shape murukku on a butter paper/newspaper by pressing the murukku press.
  • Heat oil in kadai, when it is hot add pressed murukku. Turn it after 1 min and fry till they are cooked or till hissing sound subsides. Drain from oil to paper towels.
  • Store it in airtight container.
