OATS PARRUPU VELLA PAYASAM

Ingredients

  • 200 gm Kosh Broken Oats
  • 100 gm jaggery
  • 50gm split moong dal
  • ½ tsp cooked cardamom powder
  • 8 cashews
  • 8 raisins
  • 5 strips of saffron
  • 200 ml coconut milk
  • 100 ml cow’s milk
  • 1 tsp Milkmaid
  • 1 tsp ghee

Method

  • Cook Kosh Broken Oats in cow's milk and keep aside.
  • Dissolve jaggery in water. Filter and heat the mixture before adding cardamom powder. Once added, bring the mix to a boil.
  • Add cooked oats and moong dal. Stir and mix the ingredients well.
  • Soak the saffron in a teaspoon of warm milk and, along with coconut milk, add to the above mixture.
  • Add Milkmaid and mix well before taking the pan off the flame.
  • Dry cashews and raisins, and garnish the dish.
